How It Works

Glitter screen printing uses specialty inks containing fine metallic or holographic flakes (called crystalina) suspended in a clear plastisol base. The flakes catch and reflect light, creating a sparkling, eye-catching effect on the garment.

Flake Sizes & Variants

Available in multiple flake sizes: larger flakes create more visible sparkle but limit fine detail, while smaller flakes (shimmer) allow finer resolution with a more subtle effect. Typically printed as a clear topcoat over existing colors. Gold and silver flaked variants are also available as standalone ink colors.

Visual Effect

Sparkling, reflective, light-catching surface. The effect ranges from bold, room-filling glitter to subtle shimmer depending on flake size. Most impactful under direct or stage lighting.

Technical Specs

• Ink Type: Plastisol base with crystalina (metallic/holographic flakes)
• Mesh Count: 25–60 (coarse mesh required for flakes to pass through)
• Cure Temp: 300–320°F (slower conveyor — flakes reflect heat)
• Best Fabrics: Cotton, cotton blends. Low-bleed formulas for polyester.

Limitations
